The players and parents of Lydford Foxes AFC are being invited to get on their bike to raise money for the Dartmoor-based football club.
To mark the end of the season, the club has organised a sponsored bike ride along the scenic Granite Way to Okehampton, some 10 miles away. The ride – which takes place on Sunday 20th May – will leave the football club’s home ground at Lydford Sports Field at 10am, before setting off for Okehampton and then heading back again.
The reward for the cyclists – aside from the warm glow of raising money for the football club – is the prospect of a free hot dog for all participants. Other refreshments will be served from Lydford’s now-famous hospitality kitchen, along with a BBQ for all players, parents and friends of Lydford Foxes.
Players in school year six or above are invited to take part in the cycle ride and the club would like to invite parents to help supervise the Foxes along the route. Tracey and Liz – the event organisers – have a requested a minimum £10 donation to take part, but parents are invited to use the Lydford Foxes sponsored ride form to raise even more money.
Get ready for the Granite Way to be turned into a river of orange as the Foxes make their way to Okehampton. If you see the players, why not cheer them on and give them the support they deserve?
